“Brother and Friend”
Mr. Carl Edward Moore, 77, of 7 S. Pacific Avenue, York, SC departed this Earthly life Thursday, April 2, 2020 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC. Born May 3, 1942 in York, he was a son of the late Julius and Mary Jo Reid Moore.
Carl was a 1960 graduate of Jefferson High School in York, SC. After high school, he began his working career at the Machine Shop in town before getting hired to operate the machines at Norton Manufacturing in Clover, SC, where he worked for many years until retirement. Never one to be unproductive, he later worked security for TJ Maxx for several years.
Carl was a very private person, but extremely funny and talented once you got to know him. He could often be found predicting future events, and he always knew how the cons and hacks would take advantage of the situation. A supremely holistic person, Carl believed in the natural remedies available and could tell you what herb or supplement would cure your ailment.
He was a genuinely pleasant person to be around and always exuded a grateful spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Surviving to cherish fond memories are his brothers, Johnny Moore (Lydia) of Hampton, Virginia, Larry Moore (Teresa) of Columbia, South Carolina, Donald Moore (Penny) of York, South Carolina, and Steven Moore (Kim) of Charlotte, North Carolina; his lifelong companion, Maggie Burris; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Graveside services (Restricted) will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, April 11, 2020 at Uniondale Cemetery in York, SC. Rev. Albert Tolbert will offer the Eulogy. Burial will follow immediately after the service.
Viewing only will be from 6-7 pm, Friday, April 10, 2020 at the funeral home.
