Mrs. Louise Adams Crockett, 98, was born March 3, 1921 to the late James Henry Nathaniel “Jim” and Avery Johnson Adams in Hickory Grove, SC.  She departed from her earthly path on Friday, January 3, 2020 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC.

Louise was educated in York County Schools, and later worked for many years at G & W Packing until her retirement in 2016.

She was a lifelong member of St. James AME Zion Church.  She served on the Usher Board and Kitchen Committee for many years.

Louise is preceded in death by two sons, James “Skeet” Blair and Harry “Pig” Adams, Jr.; two sisters, Sara Nichols and Dorothy Smith; and four brothers, Robert “Bobby” Adams, Harry Adams, Ernest Adams, and James Adams.

The last of her siblings, Louise leaves to cherish fond memories one son, Donald Crockett (Mary) of Gastonia, NC; one daughter, Betty Lou Barnes of Hartford, CT; one special son, James Johnson;  six grandchildren; as well as a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Friday, January 10, 2020 at St. James AME Zion Church, 1156 Church Street, Hickory Grove, SC.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, prior to the service.
