Leonard Edward Adams, Jr. was born on April 18, 1981 in Fort Knox, Kentucky.  Born into a military family, he resided in Kentucky, Germany, Georgia, and most recently in Austin, Texas.  He played varsity football, track, and basketball for Cooper High School.  Shortly after graduating from Cooper High in 1999, Leonard attended DeVry University in Dallas, Texas.  He was happily united in marriage to the love of his life Cristeena Nicole Sneed on October 13, 2012.  They have one precious son, Jalen Adams, born June 30, 2013.

Leonard was an energetic, mischievous, but respectful young man. He was a hard worker and a skilled tradesman.  An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was excellent at barbecuing, and the Dallas Cowboys were his favorite football team. Leonard was a genuine soul and never met a stranger; he touched many lives in his short lifetime. Like a magnet is with steel, people gravitated towards him for comfort and guidance. He had a special way of connecting with people and accumulated more friends in his life than many others have. Most importantly, however, Leonard was a dedicated husband and father. An extremely proud father, Leonard cherished spending time with his beloved son, Jalen. Together they played sports, fished, and did anything else that was active.

Leonard departed this life on June 7, 2016. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Johnson Adams and Frank Miller.  Leonard will be missed but forever remembered by his wife, Cristeena Adams and son, Jalen Adams of Austin, TX; father, Leonard Adams Sr. of Clover, SC; mother, Joyce Adams of Fairborne, OH; siblings La’Trondra Adams of Charlotte, NC, Le’Shawn Adams of Gastonia, NC, Chris Smart of Phoenix, AZ, and Tysa Smart of Gastonia, NC; grandmothers Bessie Adams of Clover, SC and Ora Lee Miller of Charlotte, NC; and a host of other relatives, close friends, and acquaintances.

I am so..so sorry for your loss! My prayers and thoughts go out to Leonard's family, Cristeena and Jalen. Leonard was like a little (big) brother to me. I will truly miss him, but I know he is in good hands now and will be looking down on all his family and friends.

My condolences in the loss of your dear loved one.

The pain of grief that death of a loved one brings can sometimes overwhelm us.

Our loving God Jehovah knows how we feel and he provides comfort from his word the Bible. Psalm 34:18 says: Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit. Comfort also can be found in the words at Revelation 21:4; And he (God) will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more.
