Mr. William L. "Bill" Powell, 61, of 332 Quinn Road, Clover, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016 at his home.  Born January 17, 1955 in York County, he was a son of the late William and Marie Easter Powell.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Weeping Mary Baptist Church in Bowling Green (Clover), SC.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2 pm, prior to the service, and other times at the home.

Bill Powell will be cherished as a devoted and beloved husband, respected and protective father, encouraging and proud grandfather, trusted and sincere friend, but most importantly, a Child of God.  He joined Flat Rock Baptist Church at an early age, and remained on a faithful Christian journey all of his life.

Bill was united in Holy Matrimony with Mrs. Marilyn Moore Powell for a blessed forty years.  To this union, four children were born.

Bill Powell received his certification in Electrical Engineering from Gaston College.  He then served over forty years in the Industrial Industries as an electrician for Gaston County, NC, Cleveland County, NC, and York County, SC. 

Bill was also a member of the SC Football Official Association and the SC Basketball Official Association, spending countless years refereeing Middle, Jr. High, and High School students throughout the SC Region. 

William “Bill” Powell is preceded in death by his parents, William and Marie E. Powell; and his son, Tremaile Powell.

Bill leaves to cherish many special memories with his beloved wife, Mrs. Marilyn M. Powell; his only daughter, Kimberly Pernell-Sheree Powell; two sons, William Demiron Powell and Korey Dashar Powell; the one and only grandson, Tremaine Isaiah Powell; a nephew raised as a son, Delmark L. Moore (April) and their children, Zoey D. and William Z. Moore; his sister, Patricia Latta (William); two aunts, Christine Oglesby and Erma Borders; one uncle, Charles Brown; two sisters-in-law, Veldora Brown and Mary Adams; two brothers-in-law, Charles M. Burris and Emanuel Moore (Estell);  as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

I had the pleasure of working with Bill for 16 years at Danaher/Apex. Bill was a kind hearted man, a diamond in the rough. Bill will be truly missed by all he touch. My prayers remain with Bill's family.
